Italian Recognition on EA 28 (RT 08)

The Italian authorities recognize the importance and value of organizations achieving certification to ISO 9001 and have taken the decision that construction companies who wish to be considered for public construction tenders must be ISO 9001 certified. In addition, these companies must be able to demonstrate compliance to the specific construction industry criteria as defined by the Italian accreditation body SINCERT.


Criteria as laid down in SINCERT specifications RT-05 and RT-08 must be applied by these construction companies but they may choose to be audited by a certification body recognized by other Accreditation Bodies within the MLA. Such certification bodies must therefore meet the SINCERT requirements and be approved by their own national accreditation body (in URS’ case UKAS) to offer certification to construction companies in Italy.

As a result of audits by UKAS and SINCERT, URS is able to offer such certification. URS is formally recognized and is included on the list of Accredited Bodies on the SINCERT web site, www.sincert.it (Elenco degli Organismi di Certificazione riconosciuti da SINCERT per il rilascio di Certificazioni di conformitą alla Norma ISO 9001:2000 (documento SINCERT RT-05) e delle Dichiarazioni della presenza di elementi significativi e correlati di sistema qualitą (documento SINCERT RT-08), da utilizzare nell'ambito del sistema di qualificazione delle imprese di costruzione (settore EA 28), ai sensi della Determinazione N. 11/2003 del 14 Maggio 2003 dell'Autoritą per la Vigilanza sui Lavori Pubblici )
