URS are an IATF recognzed certification body for ISO/TS 16949
In essence the procedure for certification is the same as that for ISO 9001 (as the TS scheme is based on the prime document ISO 9001). However, there are some key differences regarding the certification process.


ISO/TS 16949 CERTIFICATION

The minimum audit day requirements are more onerous due to the additional documentation to be checked. The man day allocations have been sanctioned by the IATF.


STEPS TO ISO/TS 16949 CERTIFICATION

Step 1

Forward a completed ISO/TS 16949 questionnaire (please request this from your local office). The questionnaire is a vital tool for URS, as it enables us to obtain a clear picture of your business in terms of design, number of sites, remote locations etc. From the questionnaire we can supply you with a detailed quotation and select an appropriate auditor(s).

Step 2

Submit a completed application form and application fee.
Submit a copy of the ISO/TS 16949 documented system for review.

Step 3

The on-site audit is conducted.
A formal report is produced. The recommendation for certification or otherwise will be stated at the close of the audit.

Step 4

Following any corrective actions from the audit, the formal certificate will be raised and the company shall be placed on surveillance.

Step 5

Surveillance visits will be conducted annually (or bi-annually, if required). Surveillance visits will be previously agreed via the quotation and confirmed at the final meeting of the on-site audit. The number of man-days will be based on the IATF minimum man-day table requirements.
